Planning for my Staedtler Eraser Commercial
Props
The most important prop will be the Staedtler eraser. Pencils, large piece of paper, a table to
draw on, and a finished pencil drawing (the process in its making will be documented in the
commercial) will the additional other props.
I will ensure that the pencils will have no logo showing so it’s obvious Staedtler is the one being
advertised.
Costumes
No costumes are needed for this commercial, since I'm just using my hands throughout
the entire commercial.
Schedule
10/21/20: Research commercial conventions of Staedtler commercials.
10/22/20: Plan costumes, props, schedule, location, and a backup plan
10/24/20: Plan the storyboard plan for commercial
10/25/20: Start filming early in the morning, film yourself drawing a sketch, and
10/28/20: Edit the shots necessary for the commercial & additional final touches.
11/1/20: Export the video as an .mp4 file.
Location
The commercial will take place in my living room. Since my living room has the biggest window, it will
allow more natural light to come into the camera, providing good lighting.
If I ever change my mind when it comes to filming, I may film outside in my yard if I ever change
my mind. In this location, not only will there be good lighting, but provide a colorful scene.
Backup Plan
There could be a potential where natural light may not be available due to a storm or if it’s just a
cloudy day. If that's the case, I may have to film on my desk and adjust or add light accordingly.
The camera will have to be in bird’s eye view in order to see the eraser being used in the drawing.
If the living room will be occupied by too many people, I may have to film in my room in order for the audio to be quiet as possible and it wouldn't have people blocking my shot.
